Rogue Oregon Single Malt Whiskey comes from Rogue Spirits, the distilling arm of Rogue Ales in Newport, Oregon, and it is about as grain-to-glass as whiskey gets. The barley is grown on Rogue Farms in the Tygh Valley, then, as the distillery puts it, plowed, disced, harrowed, seeded, fed, watered, threshed, winnowed, malted, milled, mashed, fermented, distilled, barrel-aged and bottled by hand. It is matured in oak on the Oregon coast and bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.

The whiskey opens with floral honey, peach and mango on the nose, then turns medium-to-full bodied on the palate with lush ripe fruit and brown baking spice, finishing smooth and warm. It is an easygoing American single malt with the fruity, malty signature of a brewery-born distillery, good neat, over ice or in a Highball. A must for Rogue fans and a fine example of Pacific Northwest craft.
